Tbilisi State Medical University Associate Professor Nona Janikashvili has been elected as the Coordinator of Meetings and Workshops for the European Resolution Biology Network Action – CA24138, one of the largest projects under the COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) framework.
The first Management Committee meeting of the project was held on October 15, marking the beginning of a large-scale collaborative effort uniting 37 European countries under one of the European Union’s most extensive research cooperation programs.
Georgia was represented at the meeting by Tbilisi State Medical University Associate Professor Nona Janikashvili. During the meeting, participants approved the project management and implementation plan and selected candidates for leadership positions within various working groups. Members of the Management Committee play an active role in decision-making processes and receive ongoing support from the European Commission.
Associate Professor Nona Janikashvili highlighted: “COST provides an unprecedented platform for enhancing institutional visibility and fostering international collaboration. It creates significant opportunities both for institutional development and for the professional growth of young scientists, who are encouraged to engage in short- and long-term scientific forums and working meetings.”
The European Resolution Biology Network aims to unite researchers working in the field of inflammation resolution, promoting the efficient exchange of research outcomes. “The involvement of young scientists is particularly crucial in this process, while the mission of the Management Committee is to ensure their support at both institutional and national levels,” – emphasized Dr. Janikashvili.
