The traditional First-Year Student Scientific Conference "Sociology in Healthcare," was held under the organization of the TSMU Faculty of Public Health and the Department of Public Health, Management, Policy, and Economics, with the active participation of the Ivane Tarkhnishvili Student Scientific Society.
The event featured small-scale research papers prepared by first-year students. The presentations addressed current issues and challenges within the healthcare sector, including social determinants of health, behavioral risk factors and significant psycho-social issues.
Students from the Georgian and English-language educational programs of the Faculty of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, as well as the Faculty of Public Health, participated in the conference. The students demonstrated essential skills in research planning, data analysis, interpretation of results, and presentation. Developing these competencies is of particular importance for their future academic and professional growth.
