A three-day training on proposal writing under the European Union’s research and innovation framework programme Horizon Europe was held at Tbilisi State Medical University. The training was designed for both experienced and early-career researchers, as well as National Contact Points (NCPs).
The event was organized by the Horizon Europe National Office of Georgia with the support of the European Commission.
The primary objective of the training was to strengthen the professional competencies of Georgian researchers and innovators in preparing competitive project proposals.
The programme focused on collaborative research projects and included an in-depth analysis of the 2026–2027 work programmes, funding priorities, and evaluation criteria. Particular emphasis was dedicated to the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) and the grant opportunities available within its framework.
The training was delivered in an interactive and practice-oriented format. Participants worked on specific grant project concepts, reviewed the core components of a project proposal, and explored the stages of budget planning and funding principles.
On the third day, discussions covered the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships, MSCA Doctoral Networks, and programmes of the European Innovation Council (EIC).
The initiative represents an important step toward integrating Georgia’s research ecosystem into the European Research and Innovation Area. The participants were awarded certificates.
