Tbilisi State Medical University Iovel Kutateladze Institute of Pharmacochemistry hosted a public lecture delivered by Academician Ether Kemertelidze. The main topic of the lecture focused on "Alexin," a highly effective plant growth stimulant derived from the flowers of Yucca gloriosa. This preparation was developed by researchers within the Steroid Compounds Division of the Phytochemistry Scientific-Research Department of the TSMU Iovel Kutateladze Institute of Pharmacochemistry, under the leadership of Academician Ether Kemertelidze. The formulation is the culmination of 75 years of fundamental research. These extensive studies have paved the way for its current practical application in agriculture to enhance plant growth and development.

The formal presentation was delivered by Mariam Benidze, Senior Researcher of the Steroid Compounds Division at the Phytochemistry Scientific-Research Department. The event was attended by the members of the university administration and faculty, Alexandre Buachidze, Chancellor of TSMU, Malkhaz Getia, Director of the TSMU Iovel Kutateladze Institute of Pharmacochemistry, Vasil Cheishvili, Operations Director of the Institute and members of the academic staff, research scientists and students.
