Academician Eter Kemertelidze, a distinguished scientist of the Iovel Kutateladze Institute of Pharmacochemistry, was congratulated on International Women's Day.
Eter Kemertelidze is widely recognized as one of the founders of phytochemistry and pharmacochemistry in Georgia. She is the author of numerous significant scientific publications and research studies. Her academic work has primarily focused on the investigation of biologically active compounds of plant origin. Under her leadership and based on her research, a few original medicinal preparations with diverse therapeutic applications have been developed.
Academician Kemertelidze has received numerous personal awards, as well as national and international recognition. She enjoys high esteem within the global scientific community. Notably, she was invited by the Chemistry Nobel Committee of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences to participate in the nomination process for the Nobel Prize in Chemistry and has also been nominated for an international peace prize.
On International Women’s Day and her upcoming 100th anniversary, Academician Eter Kemertelidze received congratulations from Mikheil Sarjveladze, Minister of Health of Georgia, Professor Irakli Natroshvili, Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University, Aleksandre Buachidze, the TSMU Chancellor, as well as representatives of the University and the Institute of Pharmacochemistry.
