Tbilisi State Medical University continues to actively engage with school students across Georgia, sharing knowledge and promoting awareness in healthcare. As part of this initiative, TSMU visited Khashuri Public School N 1, attracting significant interest from students. More than 130 students participated in an intensive first aid training session delivered by expert instructors from TSMU’s Clinical Skills and Multidisciplinary Simulation Center. The students learned:
Fundamentals of first aid and emergency response
Basics of CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation)
Trauma management principles
Scene safety assessment and emergency action planning
Techniques for foreign body airway obstruction removal
Basic Life Support (BLS) procedures
First aid for bleeding and injuries, including bandaging
The training also included a hands-on practical component, where students practiced on simulators and mannequins under professional supervision. Due to high engagement, the session extended over several hours. Students highlighted the value of the experience and expressed strong interest in visiting TSMU in the future.
