Deputy Head of the Faculty Development and Strategic Planning Department of TSMU Participated in Academic Development Masterclass in Germany

Salome Voronovi, Deputy Head of the Faculty Development and Strategic Planning Department of Tbilisi State Medical University participated in an academic development masterclass organized at Ruhr University Bochum, Germany.

The masterclass was organized under the European University Association’s (EUA) STAFF-DEV project and focused on the theme: “Joint Transnational Staff Development in Higher Education.” The program aims to strengthen academic staff development and promote international collaboration in teaching and learning within higher education institutions.

During the event, key insights from the STAFF-DEV project were discussed, highlighting outcomes from consortium partner institutions: University of Oslo (Norway), University College Cork (Ireland), Utrecht University (Netherlands) and Ruhr University Bochum (Germany).

The masterclass gathered representatives from universities across 15 European countries, including academic development centers and education specialists, providing a valuable platform for sharing experiences and best practices.

The program included presentations, group work, and discussions covering transnational collaboration models, the role of university alliances, cultural aspects, and major challenges in international educational programs. Special attention was given to institutional prerequisites for transnational staff development, including governance, resources, organizational culture, and related factors.

This participation reinforces TSMU’s commitment to international cooperation and the continuous professional development of academic staff in line with global higher education standards.
