TSMU concludes series of Student Scientific Conferences

Tbilisi State Medical University concluded its series of faculty-level and university-wide student scientific conferences with research presentations and clinical case studies by students of the Faculty of Medicine (Internal Medicine).

Students presented research on a wide range of current medical topics, including gastrointestinal disorders, cardiovascular diseases, inflammatory bowel disease, cervical cancer, diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, pneumonia, lung cancer, stroke, and the use of artificial intelligence in tuberculosis diagnosis. The poster session featured clinical and research cases on Bartonella infection and transfusion-related acute lung injury (TRALI), Type II.

The conference provided students with an opportunity to present their research, engage in scientific discussions, and receive professional feedback from TSMU faculty members and specialists.

The conference comprised seven sections, with three outstanding participants from each section advancing to the University-wide Student Scientific Conference held on 24 June. One winner was selected from each section, with the award ceremony being held on 25 June.

Abstracts of the winning students will be published in a scientific journal, further promoting the research activities and academic achievements of TSMU’s young researchers.
