Professor Irakli Natroshvili, Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University hosted Silviu Domente, the World Health Organization (WHO) Representative in Georgia. Mr. Domente expressed his gratitude to Professor Irakli Natroshvili for the longstanding and productive cooperation between TSMU and the WHO. He highlighted the strong partnership that has developed over the years in the fields of healthcare, medical education and professional development. Mr. Domente noted that, despite the completion of his mission in Georgia, cooperation between TSMU and the WHO will continue. He emphasized the University's important role in advancing the quality of medical education and preparing highly qualified healthcare professionals. Mr. Domente invited Rector of TSMU to his farewell reception and once again thanked the University leadership and academic community for their continued collaboration.

Throughout his seven-year tenure as WHO Representative in Georgia (April 2019–July 2026), Silviu Domente maintained close cooperation with TSMU. He visited the University on numerous occasions within the framework of joint academic, scientific, and public health initiatives and actively participated in major international events hosted by TSMU. His engagement included participation in the international scientific conference "Green Remedies through Green Technologies for Healthy Life," which highlighted advances in clinical pharmacy, and delivering a keynote address at a conference organized by TSMU's Department of Pediatrics in cooperation with the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia.

Mr. Domente also played an important role in supporting TSMU's involvement in post-pandemic initiatives aimed at strengthening primary healthcare and integrating digital technologies into healthcare services. During his tenure, with the support of the WHO and in partnership with other UN agencies, including UNICEF, TSMU introduced specialized educational courses designed to enhance interpersonal communication skills among future physicians.

The meeting reaffirmed the strong partnership between TSMU and the World Health Organization and the shared commitment to advancing medical education, public health, and international cooperation.
