As part of European Researchers’ Night, Tbilisi State Medical University hosted a Pitch to Match Night event, where 14 students from the American MD Program presented their research ideas.
The students had developed their ideas throughout the semester as part of the programme’s Discovery Phase module. During the event, each student had three minutes to present their proposal. The initiative aimed to connect students with researchers, potential mentors, collaborators, and co-authors, while fostering opportunities for future research partnerships.
European researchers joined the event remotely to listen to the 14 presentations. Participants attending in person included American and European representatives, representatives of the Horizon Europe National Office and COST, clinicians, professors, healthcare policymakers, and students from various TSMU programmes.
This year’s event was supported by the European Commission’s COST Action EU-RESOLVE – European Research Biology. Representatives from more than 40 countries involved in the project expressed their support for the initiative.
Established in 2024, the project aims to provide students and early-career researchers with a platform to present their creative and innovative ideas to a broad audience, share their perspectives, and build connections with the international scientific community.
