Nino Machavariani, Tbilisi State Medical University Foreign Languages Centre Director and Tinatin Bubuteishvili, Senior Specialist, visited the Institute of Medical Terminology and Foreign Languages at the Faculty of Medicine of Comenius University in Bratislava within the framework of the Erasmus+ STT mobility programme. The primary aim of the visit was to strengthen the international partnership between TSMU and Comenius University, which will foster the development of joint educational projects, research initiatives and student-led activities in the future.
Tomas Hamer, Director of the host university and academic staff members met guests from TSMU and discussed issues related to teaching and assessment processes, methods for sharing professional experience and prospects for future collaboration.
The TSMU delegation also met with representatives of the Foreign Languages Centre of the Medical University of Łódź (Poland), where they planned joint initiatives including an international Olympiad in Medical English involving students from all three universities.
It is noteworthy that both the TSMU and Comenius University Foreign Languages Centres are members of UNIcert® AKS, an international association uniting university foreign language teaching centres. The cooperation between TSMU and Comenius University was initiated within the framework of this network. As a result of the visit, new directions for collaboration were identified, further enhancing TSMU’s integration into the European educational space and promoting the exchange of knowledge and professional experience with partner universities.
