Within the framework of Faculty Week, Medicine Faculty Day was held at Tbilisi State Medical University, featuring a diverse programme of educational and interactive activities. The event aimed to provide students with deeper insight into their professional field, support the development of practical skills, and foster an engaging academic learning environment.
As part of the programme, a blood donation campaign was organized at the University. Participants were given the opportunity to contribute to life-saving efforts, underscoring the importance of civic responsibility and public health support. The campaign was conducted with the involvement of the Batumi Blood Bank – N(N)LE “Hema-2024”.
An interactive session,“On Guard of Medicine” was held within the framework of the event, offering students the opportunity to engage in direct dialogue with university representatives and gain insight into their professional experience.
The session featured:
• Professor Tinatin Tkemaladze – physician geneticist, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and Head of the Department of Molecular and Medical Genetics;
• Professor Rusudan Rukhadze – Vice-Rector of TSMU and Head of the Department of Histology, Cytology and Embryology;
• Professor Tinatin Chikovani – Assistant to the Rector and Head of the Department of Immunology.
Throughout the day, a range of additional educational and interactive activities were conducted, including the challenge “Guess the Bone”, a creative competition, clinical case discussions, trauma case demonstrations, and simulation-based exercises.
The event provided participants with valuable opportunities to strengthen their interest in the field of medicine through hands-on activities, discussions with academic staff, and exposure to professional development pathways.
