Within the framework of World Allergy Week, the Department of Allergy and Clinical Immunology of Tbilisi State Medical University launched a series of professional training sessions for healthcare practitioners.

The first training session was organized on June 24 for the staff of the TSMU Dental Clinic. The training focused on the topic “Management of Anaphylaxis in the Dental Office,” providing participants with an overview of the key principles and practical tools for the clinical management of anaphylaxis. The importance of rapid recognition and effective emergency response to anaphylactic reactions were specifically emphasized highlighting evidence-based approaches to ensuring patient safety in dental practice.

Tbilisi State Medical University holds the status of a World Allergy Organization (WAO) Centre of Excellence. In recognition of this distinction and as part of the World Allergy Week activities, the series of training sessions for healthcare professionals will continue at the University. The next sessions will be held on June 25 at the TSMU and Ingorokva University Clinic of High Medical Technologies, and on June 26 at the TSMU First University Clinic.

The educational activities aim to strengthen healthcare professionals’ readiness for the timely recognition and effective management of severe allergic reactions, thereby contributing to improved patient care and safety.
