Tbilisi State Medical University hosted a seminar "Opportunities and Risks of AI in Research

and Education: International Experience," focusing on the evolving role of artificial intelligence

(AI) in higher education and research, as well as the opportunities and challenges associated with

its application in academic environments.

The seminar was delivered by Associate Professor Nutsa Kobakhidze, a tenured faculty member

at the Faculty of Education of the University of Hong Kong and President of the Comparative

Education Society of Hong Kong. The speaker presented international approaches to the

integration of AI into higher education and scientific research, highlighting current trends,

emerging opportunities, and the ethical, academic, and practical challenges associated with the

use of AI technologies.

The event brought together students, academic and administrative staff of Tbilisi State Medical

University, as well as other participants interested in the topic. The seminar concluded with an

interactive discussion, during which attendees had the opportunity to ask questions, exchange

perspectives, and discuss the ethical and responsible use of artificial intelligence in academia.

Prior to the seminar, Associate Professor Nutsa Kobakhidze met with Professor Irakli

Natroshvili, Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University. The meeting focused on contemporary

developments in higher education and the growing role of AI in teaching, learning, and research.
