Tbilisi State Medical University Students’ Internship in the clinics of Poznan University of Medical Science (Poznan, Poland)

From July 23 to August 20, 2013 students of the Faculty of Medicine of Tbilisi State Medical University: Archil Kaluzha, Tamar Kvartskhava, Khatia Khatiashvli and Maia Kapanadze, in the frames of the Memorandum of Collaboration, did the internship in the following departments of Poznan University of Medical Science: General Surgery, Cardiovascular Surgery, Gynecological Oncology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and  Cardiology.             

     

In the frames of the program, senior specialist of Students and Alumni Relations Office of TSMU, Gogi Chikovani paid a working visit to the university clinics of Poznan University of Medical Science.

The meetings were held with Vice-Rector of Poznan University of Medical Science, Professor Iaroslaw Walkowiak and Head of International Relations Department, Bozena Raducha.

The future collaboration issues about organizing the exchange programs for students and academic staff and participation in the international projects were discussed at the meeting. The agreement was made about increasing the participants’ number and involvement of the students of the Faculty of Stomatology and Public Health in the program for next year.

In the University Clinics of Poznan, the meetings were held with Head of Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Therapy, Professor Leon Drobnik and Professor Marek Baliński from Department of Intensive Care and Cardiology, who expressed their wish to cooperate with Tbilisi State Medical University in order to develop a quality of the study process and implement current teaching methods.

In the frames of visit, on July 29, the official meeting was held with Rector of Medical University of Gdańsk, Professor Janusz Moryś, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Stomatology, Professor Maria Dudziak and Head of the Department of International Cooperation, Ewa Kiszka. The agreement about the memorandum on cooperation between Medical University of Gdańsk and Tbilisi State Medical University was made.

At the end of the internship the students were awarded by certificates.
