Lectures by Foreign Professors at Tbilisi State Medical University

On September 13 -16, 2013Professors from leading universities from Great Britain, France and Poland paid an official visit to Tbilisi State Medical University.

Foreign Professors delivered the lectures for TSMU students of the Faculty of Medicine and Public Health in TSMU and university clinics.

September 17:

„Ambient Air Pollution and Children's Respiratory Health”Professor Jan E. Zejda, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Medical University of Silesia (Poland). The lecture was delivered in Givi Zhvania Academic Pediatric Clinic.

“New Insight in the Field of Primitive Glomerulopathy” - Professor Philippe Grimbert, Transplantologist, Coordinator of Clinical Center of Biotherapy, Henri Mondor Hospital, Paris (France). The lecture was delivered in High Technology Medical Center University Clinic.

"Regulatory T cells in immune tolerance: a model of productive interactions between basic and clinical research". (Part I) - Professor José Cohen, Professor in cell biology of Center for Clinical Investigation in biotherapy (INSERM), Head of the transplantation lab, deputy director for the PhD program, Henri Mondor Hospital, Paris (France). The lecture was delivered in High Technology Medical Center University Clinic.

„Tooth Direct Restorations and Contemporary Approachs” – Professor Nicholas Hodson ,Doctor of Leeds Dental Institute, Specialist of Restorative Dentistry (Great Britain). The lecture was delivered in TSMU Apolon Urushadze University Stomatologic Clinic.

       

September 18:

“Environmental Health - Exposure Related Burden of Disease Public Health: Definition, Essential Functions, Prevention” - Professor Jan E. Zejda, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Medical University of Silesia (Poland). The lecture was delivered in the Department of Preventive Medicine and Environmental Health.

“Acute Rejection in Organ Transplant“- Professor Philippe Grimbert, Transplantologist, Coordinator of Clinical Center of Biotherapy, Henri Mondor Hospital, Paris (France). The lecture was delivered in High Technology Medical Center University Clinic.

After delivering the lectures, foreign professors visited Clinical Skills Center of Tbilisi State Medical University. The professors expressed their positive attitudes towards to modern education programs and technologies, which were implemented in the center.

At the end of the visit, foreign professors met with Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University, Prof. Zurab Vadachkoria, who thanked the foreign guests for the lectures and the partnership.

The lectures of foreign Professors from leading clinics will be continued at Tbilisi State Medical University.
