On September 30, 2013 Deputy Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University, Professor Gia Abesadze met with European Union Experts in Healthcare: Head of International Relations Department of Austrian Federal Environment Agency and representative of European Commission Technical Assistance and Information Exchange (TAIEX), Mr. Johannes Mayer and Head of Hazardous Chemicals Department, Preventive Activities Directorate in Ministry of Environment and Water of Bulgaria, EU expert and EU contact person in Austria Federal Environment Agency, Ms Parvoleta Luleva. 

The meeting was attended by Dean of the Faculty of Public Health of TSMU, Prof. Bidzina Zurashvili, Head of the Department of Preventive Medicine and Environmental Health and Medical Ecology of TSMU, Professor Nino Vepkhvadze, Head of Direction of Environmental Health and Professional Medicine, Professor Revaz Kvaranchkhiladze, Head of Direction of Food and Age Medicine, Professor Shalva (Davit) Zarnadze, Professor of Healthcare Management, Policy and Economics of TSMU, Irina Zarnadze, Head of Direction of Epidemiology and Biostatistics of Public Health Department, Professor Irakli Mchedlishvili, Head of Direction of Healthcare Management, Policy and Economics, Professor Levan Baramidze, Head of Direction of Applied Public Health, Professor Mamuka Jibuti.

They discussed the issues which would help to share the experience and establish collaboration in preventive medicine.
