Georgia Race for the Cure

On October 13, 2013, the Georgia Race for the Cure was organized in Vake Park by Women Wellness Care Alliance HERA.

The purpose of the race was to raise awareness about breast cancer and funds so more women are able to be screened and treated.

Student Government and students of Tbilisi State Medical University participated in the race.

Breast cancer cases are higher in Georgia than the average number in East Europe.  Breast cancer is the leading cause of death from age 14 to 49 years old women in Georgia.

Georgia Race for the Cure for the first time was held in 2005 in Georgia.
