Delegation of Tbilisi State Medical University participated in Tempus Project MUMEENA Conference

On October 20-23, 2013 the Conference of Tempus Project MUMEENA was held in Baku, Azerbaijan.  The conference was attended by the delegations from the project partner universities: University of Leeds (Great Britain), University Medical Center of Utrecht University (Netherlands), Universita Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Italy), University of Granada (Spain), National O Bohomolets Medical University and Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University (Ukraine), Tbilisi State Medical University and I. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (Georgia), Azerbaijan Medical University and Nakhchivan State University (Azerbaijan).

The delegation of Tbilisi State Medical University included Project Coordinator in Georgia, Professor Gaiane Simonia, Financial Project Manager, Professor Ia Pantsulaia and Professor in Internal Medicine of Tbilisi State Medical University, Irina Andronikashvili.

The conference was opened by Director of Medical Education Institution of University of Leeds, President of an International Association for Medical Education, Professor Trudie Roberts, who emphasized the role of Tbilisi State Medical University in the implementation of the project. He mentioned that the success of the project depends on how well the project is implemented at Tbilisi State Medical University.

 On the first day of the conference Professor Gaiane Simonia made the presentation about detailed two-year report of the project. On the second day of the conference Professors Gaiane Simonia and Irina Andronikashvili run the work-shop about critical thinking and research methodology in evidence-based medicine.

On the third day of the conference discussions about the project objectives and other projects planning were held. They decided that the next conference would be held on June 16-20, 2014 at Tbilisi State Medical University.
