On December 9, 2013 delegation of Ismir Sifa University (Turkey) paid an official visit to Tbilisi State Medical University.

The meeting was attended by Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University, Professor Zurab Vadachkoria, Deputy Rector, Professor Rima Beriashvili, Deputy Rector, Giorgi Abesadze, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Professor Tinatin Chikovani, Director of Foreign Languages Center, Professor Manana Kutelia, Head of the International Relations Department, Professor Ia Avaliani and Deputy Head Irina Kapetivadze.

From Turkish side the meeting was attended by: Director of Institute of Health Sciences, Head of Microbiology Department, Professor Halil Ibrahim ATABAY, Head of Public Relations Department of Sifa University, Ercan AKYLDIZI, Coordinator of English, Sami SAHINDURAN, Head of Corporate Development and Communication, Chief Executive Officer of International Patient Department, Dr. Ercan AYYLDIZ, Lecturer of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, Faculty of Dentistry, Assistant Professor Osman Sami AGLARCI and Faculty Secretary of Health Science, Ahmet KARTAL,  Medical Superintendent of Basmane Hospital Of Sifa University, Ophthalmologist, Professor Murat UYAR, International Exchange Programs Specialist, Project Cycle manager, Ergün Aktürk and Head of Neurosurgery Department of Sifa University, Assistant Professor Güven Çıtak. Rector of International Black Sea University, Professor Ercan TUNÇ was with the delegation during the visit.

On the meeting Georgian and Turkish sides discussed the future collaboration issues, student, academic and administrative staff exchange programs, joint scientific projects and cooperation aspects.
