Evening of Classical Music with Participation of TSMU Students

On January 30, 2014 concert of classical music was held in  small hall of V.Sarajishvili Tbilisi State Conservatory.

Among participants were the students of Tbilisi State Medical University (TSMU) and  Concervatory. There were performed the music works and compositions of  Chopin, Joplin, Bellini, Kachin, Scriabin, Khorava, Paliashvili,  Azarashvili and  Lagidze.

It was particularly proud that the future physicians stood before the audience as talented and original artists. Musical works performed by  Anna Arabidze, Shorena Kochlamazashvili, Mariam Metreveli, Nino Mchedlidze, Guram Navrozashvili, Ketevan Ramishvili, Tamar Jabauri, Mariam Jaiani, and Davit Jimsheleishvili deserved great recognition of  audience and professionals.

This is even more important as the students of TSMU went on stage side by side with professional musicians. Consequently, responsibility for the quality and demand for performance level was high.

The concert was attended by: Prof. Rezo Kiknadze, Rector of V.Sarajishvili Tbilisi State Conservatory, Amiran Girgvliani (whose transcriptions - piano versions, were performed at the concert), the composers: Vazha Azarashvili, Rusudan Khorava, Manana Gabarashvili, Head of Self-Governing Body, Prof. Zurab Vadachkoria, Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University, Prof. Kakhaber Chelidze, Vice-Rector, Prof. Irine Kvachadze, Head of TSMU Quality Assurance Department, Prof. Tinatin Chikovani, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Kakha Abuladze, Head of TSMU Self-Governing Body, Zaur Pkhaladze, Head of TSMU Sports and Art Center  and etc.

The concert participants were welcomed by Prof. Rezo Kiknadze, Rector of V.Sarajishvili Tbilisi State Conservatory, Prof. Zurab Vadachkoria, Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University and the heads of self-governing bodies of both higher institutions.

In future perspective this precedent is of great importance for both parties involved. Performances of TSMU student- artists might be considered as truly loaded word to the students' creative field.

The majority of TSMU students, who participated in the concert, have graduated from the musical schools (seven classes), some of them  even continued studies at musical colleges but their interest in medical fields turned out more attractive for them.

After classes at the University they find the time to be actively involved in Center activities (dance and learn  new plays). It should be emphasized the supports and contribution provided to the Center by TSMU administration. We have a good  grand piano  and pianos… Students come to the rehearsals  and the result is obvious. They participate in every university events and concerts. Last September by invitation of the University of Art, they held the concert in Batumi . At present they  accepted an invitation from the conservatory . This in itself speaks about everything…

It is important that Memorandum of friendship was concluded between these  two universities. From now on, a close relationship is planned. In the future Conservatory students will come and arrange joint concerts together with TSMU students at TSMU concert hall.
