Defense of Master’s Thesis Began

As usual, defense of Master’s thesis began at Tbilisi State Medical University. This is normal educational process, but it is interesting that every day it becomes more flexible and adapted to international requirements and what is most important, the works/ papers, represented by TSMU graduates, are more refined.

According to Prof. Nino Vepkhvadze, Head of the Department of Coordination of Scientific Works, Magistracy and Doctoral Course, it is the fifth graduate from Master Course programs on "Health promotion, health education" and "Councilor on rehabilitation”.

The number of graduates from Master course gradually increases and what is most important, the quality of the papers is becoming better every year. Today's reality is as follows: managers, public health specialists, professionals working in the field of insurance are needed.

Recently, more of the graduates from the Faculty of Public Health were choosing these profiles of Master’s Degree but now there are many graduates from the Faculty of Medicine as well. This is the answer to modern requirements.

According to Associate Professor Irina Zarnadze,      Head of the Master Programs, only on 6th Mach      in Master programs "Health promotion, health education" and "Councilor on rehabilitation”, eight seekers defended Master’s Thesis.Topics of the represented works/papers were very interesting: “"Health risks in young women, 18-29 years of ages living in Georgia and evaluation of health promotion prospects"  ( Ana Zhulina – scientific supervisors: Associate Professor Zhalva Zarnadze, prof. Joan Bocsan, experts: Lili Lomtadze, Maia Gonashvili),  “Involvement of parents of children with autism spectrum disorders in the rehabilitation process and evaluation of their education perspectives”  (Nino Tsereteli- scientific supervisors: Associate Professor Zhalva Zarnadze Nino Japaridze, Doctor of Psychology, experts: Rusudan Mkheidze, Dali Kitovani), “Evaluation of risks of mental health in students” (Giga Sordia scientific supervisors: Associate Professor Shalva Zarnadze, Rusudan Mkheidze, experts: Marina Kajrishvili, Ramaz Sakvarelidze),  "Study and evaluation of media role  in formation of population health education in Georgia” (Michel Diakondze, - scientific supervisors: Associate Professor Irina Zarnadze experts: Associated Professor Shalva Zarnadze, Vazha Zeikidze), „"Evaluation and Study of the role of primary health care workers in health promotion and health education '” (Shota Berulashvili - scientific supervisors: Associate professor Irina Zarnadze, Prof. Moris Mitelmark, experts: Prof. Otar Gerzmava, Associate professor Shalva Zarnadze), “Modeling of effective system for health education in the process of treatment and rehabilitation of Cerebral vascular disease " (Nino Bochorishvili - - scientific supervisors: Associate Professor Irina Zarnadze, Prof. Moris Mitelmark  experts: Prof. Otar Gerzmava, Associate Professor Shalva Zarnadze), "Health promotion and rehabilitation in tobacco users " (Salome Pagava -  scientific supervisors: Prof. Giorgi Pichkhaia, Assistant-Professor Lili Lomtadze, experts: Associate Professor Shalva Zarnadze, Prof. Maia Gonashvili), “To promote the socialization of children with cerebral palsy" (Teo Jincharadze - - scientific supervisors: Associate Professor Shalva Zarnadze, Prof.; Maia Shoniakh, experts:  Irma Manjavidze, Khatuna Kekelashvili).

To get comprehensive and good education - this is the most important requirement, but at the same time we should also consider the time requirements. As after submission of a Master's thesis became clear, along with knowledge of the issue, the  master's degree seekers have the full commitment to deal with problems of our reality. This is another success of Tbilisi State medical University.
