On May 6, 2014, an Italian guest, Mrs. Jana Dostalova, Regional Manager for the famous Dental  Corporation “Micerium” visited Tbilisi State Medical University.

The interest of the students of the Faculty of Stomatology and young stomatologists in her presentation, which was dedicated to the presentation of a new restorative material, was so great that the TSMU Dissertation hall was over crowded. The lecture was attended by 230 Doctor- stomatologists. Actually, it has its objective reasons, the first - new represented material, a revolutionary enamel HRI, is of great importance for odontology. This material has an imitation effect of natural tooth enamel. Its author is Professor Lorenzo Vanini the world’s meter of aesthetic medicine. The second reason is that practical trainings at TSMU Department of Odontology in based on innovations. According to Professor Marina Mamaladze “Today in Georgia, Dentistry, Stomatology, old term - Therapeutic Dentistry, modern terms - odontology is developing very fast. I am glad that in any country, no matter where you go, at  any high school – you can see that  our levels in tooth treatment is equal. The first reason is that dentists have an aspiration to do their work better, the second - open borders and willing to move forward and utilize modern technologies. In the past when we were students there were one or two filling materials only but now there is much. There is no restoration material in the world we or our students do not know from lecture courses of practical trainings. The material presented here “Enamol + " is really  innovative .”

I consider the author, Professor Lorenzo Vanini, the world’s meter of aesthetic medicine,  as my teacher. This filling was created with his philosophy, and ensures teeth restoration to have the same life as a natural, healthy enamel, wear and fracture beam, a natural luster and look.

Most of all I am glad that the corporation is planning an innovation that had never been done before. None of the well-known companies have the willing to sponsor students’ hands-on activities. The reason of which  is our small market. Micerium expressed desire to provide the fifth year students, willing to study operative odontology, with these materials and then conduct the competition to reveal the best skills. But for this preparatory work will be planned at Rector’s Office".

At the same day -May 6, Mrs. Jana Dostalova, Regional Manager for the famous Dental  Corporation “Micerium” together with Levan Tortladze and Irakli Machavariani, the representatives of the company “Dental Market” were met by Prof. Zurab Vadachkoria, Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University.

The meeting was attended by TSMU Chancellor Zurab Ordjonikidze, Vice - Rectors: Prof. Rima Beriashvili and Professor Kakhaber Chelidze, Dean of the Faculty of Stomatology Professor Samson Mgebrishvili, Head of International Relations Department, Prof. Ia Avaliani, Professor Marina Mamaladze. They discussed the future plan and decided that the lecture - seminars and  practical courses using   Micerium materials will be carried out at TSMU.

The best students will be selected through the competition  and the winner together with his/her supervisor will go to Italy at  international competition, and the winner will pass three month training course at Ketl University (Unit of Restorative and Endodonties Dir Prof Camilio D'Arcangelo Dep. Of medical Oral and Bicteqnologial Science University of CHietl).
