On May 7, 2014, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine in Georgia, His Excellency Vasil Tsibenko visited the Tbilisi State Medical University. He was welcomed by Prof. Zurab Vadachkoria Rector of TSMU, Zurab Orjonikidze TSMU Chancellor and Goeirge Abesadze TSMU Vice-Rector.

The representatives of the two friendly countries discussed the future plans and prospects of relations . The discussion was aimed at ensuring a high level of education and training; as the intellectual capabilities will ensure the strength of the country. Further cooperation with P.L. Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education (NMAPE) (Ukraine), has been planned.  Within the framework of cooperation was planned the followings: introducing the latest medical advances, exchanging the specialists and development of qualifications of academic staff. Both parties shall  provide each other with information about forthcoming Conferences and Congresses, and assist physicians and pharmacists in postgraduate continuing education. The agreement was concluded.
