International Cultural Festival of International Students

International Cultural Festival of International Students initiated by TSMU students’ self-governing body was held at Tbilisi State Medical University.On May 6, 7 and 8, TSMU multinational students presented their countries' traditional dances and songs, body – art, arranged competitions, flash - Moby, national cuisine.

Approximately 1900 students from 37 countries are becoming proficient in medicine at the University; they became familiar with Georgian culture and introduced their countries’ culture to local students. Years will pass, and Indian, Canadian and Sri–Lankan  graduates from TSMU will return to their homelands and along with professionalism will have desire of friendship with Georgia. This is very important.

     
     

On May 7, Asian tunes filled the TSMU yard. As if all beauty of Asia visited Medical University. In the yard, decorated with colorful flags, foreign students were dancing side by side, cheered by the host - Georgian students. After flash – Moby performance national cousin for TSMU  students and festival guests was  arranged. On May 8, a concert was arranged in the red hall of TSMU.  International students performed the fragments from “Romeo and Juliette” by Shakespeare, national dances and songs. The masterpiece of culture equally impact the representatives of every nation, love of Romeo and Juliette doesn’t need translation, Shakespeare  unites entire world as an idea that the peace and happiness of the world population depends on peace and happiness of its every state separately.

     

International Cultural Festival of International Students was attended by: Prof. Zurab Vadachkoria, Rector of TSMU, Prof. Rima Beriashvili, Vice-Rector, Prof. Tinatin Chikovani, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Elene Abzianidze, Zaur Pkhaladze Director of TSMU Center for Sports and Art and Badry Machavariani, Deputy Director of the same center, and other TSMU academic staff. At the end of the festival international students expressed their gratefulness for warm and attention they feel permanently  from TSMU administration, Professors and students.
