On May 12, 2014, “The Society of  Supporters of Tbilisi State Medical University " was Founded by the initiate of TSMU students self-governing body. According to Kakha Abuladze, President  of  TSMU students self-governing organization,  this event will soon become a historical event, as the community of  those generations running  the  students’  life at Tbilisi State Medical University for 20 years are united right here. That 20 years ago, in 1994, the first students’ elective organization (since 2006 formed as students’ self- governing body)  was founded  is of great importance. The Jubilee of TSMU students self-governing organization  and  the  evening devoted to presentation of “The Society of Supporters of Tbilisi State Medical University " were attended by Professor ZurabVadachkoria Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University, Vice - Rectors: Prof. Rima Beriashvili  and Professor Kakhaber Chelidze, George Abesadze, the representatives of TSMU Clinics, TSMU students and former students.

According to Professor ZurabVadachkoria Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University, he is happy and proud of such generation of TSMU students’ self-governing organization, initiating and realizing  the idea to bring together the supporters of Tbilisi State Medical University. "Actually, the first step was made to you  -  former heads of this organization who were leading the students’ life at TSMU  and consequently  the history of medical university itself for many years. Thank you for this love - that you love the Tbilisi State Medical University. And I would like to repeat once again: someone can be  cross with the Rector  but  should not be  angry at the University. Thank you for everything …”. Archil Talakvadze Deputy Minister of Correction, Probation and Legal Assistance of Georgia, and graduate of our  University  delivered the speech at the event:  " I am very pleased that “The Society of  Supporters of Tbilisi State Medical University "  brings together so many people.

Today, the world is debating the issue on what a student  buys at world's leading universities, led by the Burton, Harvard , Oxford Universities, King's College London ...  some says that it is a  special knowledge but some think that together the knowledge they develop important contacts/communications  with future colleagues and well-known professionals. It is equally important for the future. Today is the day when TSMU  stepped forward to say to uture generations that here they will get not only qualified education  but also useful contacts as well. I am ready to help each student to receive information and to pave the way forward". In the evening participated: musical band of Sri-Lankan students   and famous Georgian group “Phran”.  The guests tasted a ceremonial cake. Special guests confirmed their membership to “The Society of Supporters of Tbilisi State Medical University " by signatures made on the  banner.
