International Education Center - Open Day

On May 15, 2014 – Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia met the students, rectors and academic staff of higher educational institutions. He attended an Open Day of the Center of International Education.

According to Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia, he was very pleased that his initiative was realized so  soon. The Center for International Education was established within the frames of innovative projects of Prime Minister of Georgia.The center aims to train professionals according to the international standards of qualification.

'' We understand how promising is considered a State which has trained and progressive youth. In the modern era only the well-educated people, equipped with the latest knowledge, achieve success. And the state should use the resources of such persons. That was the goal of my initiative and to do so we set up an International Education Center. We have developed a completely transparent and fair selection rule, which excludes any type of privilege. I am sure that the youth of our country has a great future. I believe that we, all together , will achieve great success .'' – said Irakli Garebashvili Prime – Minister of Georgia.

 

As it was mentioned at the meeting, the center will provide 3 programs:

1. Financing Master's and Doctoral programs

2. Inviting Overseas scholars and practitioners to Georgia

3. Leadership training and professional training programs.

"I want to tell every student to use this opportunity, as it is a very good way to get financing abroad. Do you know what are the costs associated with study abroad and many of students cannot afford it. Newly established International Education Center has offered very good business suggestions to students and Master's degree seekers; hopefully many young people will take advantage of it , "- said Tamar  Sanikidze - Minister of Education and Sciences.

It is very important that after passing this program abroad our young people return back to home and turn their knowledge to practical uses. For this purpose, the students will conclude the relevant agreement.

Memorandum of Understanding between the administration of Government of Georgia,  LEPL Civil Service Bureau of Georgia and the universities was signed. Symbolically, Rectors of the Universities left their autographs on the banner dedicated to this event. The meeting was attended by the Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University, Professor Zurab Vadachkoria, TSMU students and President of TSMU self-governing organization Kakha Abuladze.

Ms. Ekaterine Kardava, Head, Civil Service Bureau and Nino Chelidze Head of the International Education Center, gave more information to the attendees. Students were asked to register for training program in a timely manner to pass the stages of the master competition:

 

• Registering through the electronic system within the Competition dates and complete  the appropriate application form

• Interview with Competition Commission

As the students of Tbilisi State Medical University said after the meeting, it's really wonderful opportunity for them to get a high-level of education and to use their competences for their country.
