Graduation Ceremony of the Faculty of Medicine

On June 8, 2014 graduation ceremony of the Faculty of Medicine was held Tbilisi State Medical University. The yard was decorated for the festival. Those who are now called certified doctors were dressed in blue academic robes and wearing scarves with TSMU logo. There was a little nostalgia because of the happiest age of students has been completed and feeling of beginning the new interesting life ...The young graduates were congratulated by their Professors who passed the hardest way with them to improve the knowledge of students.

According to Tina Chikovani, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine “This is an important day, from now you will feel the results of that great effort made during the study at the University ... Now you're standing here as the doctors.  It is not easy to be a doctor in the XXI century. The world is waiting for new approaches to the complex problems that mankind faces in the presence of various diseases. You must seek the new ways in order to help all those who need it.”

The ceremony was attended by  Vice - Rector, Prof. Rima Beriashvili, Vice - Rector, Professor Kakhaber Tchelidze, Dean of the Faculty of Public Health, Associate Professor Bidzina  Zurashvili, Luiza Gabunia Director of the Center of Scientific Skills, Associate Professor Bella Mamulashvili, TSMU Department of Medical History and Bioethics.

 

Prof. Rima Beriashvili addressed the young doctors, wished them success and said that she believes in the future of these youth generation. "Hopefully, you will always remember your Alma - Mater - Mother University - Tbilisi State Medical University. As a mother is one, so is Alma - Mater and therefore very valuable as well”.

Professor Kakhaber Chelidze reminded the words said 6-year ago to his former students: "I told you that the only difference between us is only our work and experience. You've been doing the same job that we do, the experience will be enriched. You chose very complicated way and I wish that you successfully pass this way. " At the end the young doctors took “Hippocratic Oath”.  White and blue balloons simultaneously took off from the university yard. It seemed symbolic: young doctors really go from University yard and certainly with the hope of rising. Congratulations and wishing success in future career.
