German Guests at TSMU Center of Clinical Skills

On June 6, 2014 TSMU Center of Clinical Skills was visited by German guests: Ms. Katharina Derkorn - Head of Development. Cooperation, German Embassy and Ms Anna Goos, Migration Expert  of  Secretariat of the State Commission.  The guests were welcomed by:  Professor Kakhaber  Chelidze Vice-Rector,  Professor Irma Manjavidze Director of TSMU Center of Clinical Skills,  Akaki Sepashvili Technical Manager of the Center, Dali Chitaishvili Chief  Specialist and Zaza Mamulashvili Assistant. The purpose of the meeting was to set as an object  the prospects for future cooperation  between TSMU Center of Clinical skills  and German side. It is already ten years the Center of  Clinical skills exists  at TSMU. On April 24, 2004 according to the decision of the University Administration and TSMU  Methodic  Council to improve the efficiency of  methodic-teaching, medical and clinical activities, “Central Laboratory of Clinical Skills” was established.   Here was performed improving technical basis and the methodology of teaching. At TSMU Center of Clinical Skills there are conducted practical trainings on simulations and models for the fourth and fifth year students according to  various  clinical fields: : reanimation  and emergency care in obstetrics - gynecology, newborn reanimation and care, surgery, ophthalmology, auscultation and data interpretation  of  heart and lungs, adult patient care. The guests  were shown  the Center of Clinical Skills, all the simulations the students work on  and the anatomy table, which allows students to see the human body to the desired setting. Ms. Katharina Derkorn and  Ms Anna Goos were satisfied. For them it became clear that TSMU has serious ambitions to be  one of the best  in whole Caucasus region. By support and help of European friends, the University will be able to improve its technical basis, and then use it for the benefit of the country and the region as a whole. Serious purposes  is followed by serious   results.  German guests and the hosts took leave with hope for future cooperation.
