International Congress on ,,Modern Trends in Higher Education

On June 6-8, 2014 Professor Zurab Vadachkoria, TSMU Rector  was invited to Istanbul (Turkey) to attend the  International Congress on "Modern trends in higher education".  The congress was attended by 300 participants from 45 countries, holding high administrative positions in various universities and prominent place  in the academic world.  The organizers were International Association of Universities and Fatih University. Congress discussed the innovations and issues of their implementation and development in higher education; emphasized the importance of strategic perspective of higher education  and  the role of University cooperation in realization of this perspectives.

The matter of special interest and attention was new educational and scientific technologies on which should be actually based a  development of XXI century higher education. All  the problems concerning to this issue were discussed in details. Attending the Conference and implementation of innovations discussed there would be of great importance for  the Tbilisi State Medical University. We are facing the first positive result: during the Congress, there was signed a cooperation agreement between Tbilisi State Medical University and Fatih University. According to this agreement joint exchange and research programs will be carried out in future .  Georgian and Turkish scholars and students will  exchange experiences.
