SESAM 20th Anniversary Meeting of the Society in Europe for Simulation Applied to Medicine

On June 12-14, 2014 SESAM 20th Anniversary Meeting of the Society in Europe for Simulation Applied to Medicine was held in Posnan, Poland.  In the Conference participated Prof. Irma Manjavidze, Director of TSMU Center of Clinical Skills, as a member of this Society.  

Before the Conference the training on “Art of scripting for testing on simulations” was arranged. According to Prof. Irma Manjavidze:  "It was an interesting training organized by Orit Eisenberg (test development) and Orna Divon-Ophir (evaluation) chief specialists at the Israel Center for Medical Simulation shared their significant practical knowledge to  us. During the conference, the guests were introduced to the simulation producing manufacturers and   their working principles. At the Conference various issues concerning  to application of simulations in medicine were discussed: students assessment criteria, trainings on objectification  of  supervision, administration, debriefing, monitoring and evaluation systems. Prof. Irma Manjavidze represented a poster report on OSCE Exam for IV year students of the Faculty of Medicine  in obstetrics and gynecology which was held at Tbilisi State Medical University. The report acquired a great interest.During the Conference Prof. Irma Manjavidze met with the representatives of different manufacturers such as კ„Leardal”, “Gaumard”, “Nasco”, “KYOTO KAGAKU”, “Anatomqge”, “CAE”, “Adam Roully” and others  the production of which is successfully used at TSMU.  She had  the opportunity to represent Tbilisi State Medical University to the colleagues and had discussions with  the new companies “Mentis” and „SIMStation“  as well as the old ones - „ZYOS”, “Orzone”, “Gardionics”, “Epona”, “DentSim”. According to Prof. Irma Manjavidze  - "Society in Europe for Simulation Applied to Medicine  gives the opportunity to every member to partake the perspective of  implementation of simulators for medical education and practice offering them future cooperation, which is so important for the development of our center”
