On June 23-28, 2014, Professor Zurab Vadachkoria, Rector of  Tbilisi State Medical University, was on official invitation in Ulan - Bator (Mongolia).

The 5th Annual Conference of Eurasian Silk Road Universities Consortium (ESRUC) and the meeting of Executive Board, the elected member of which is Prof. Zurab Vadachkoria - Rector of TSMU, were held in Mongolia.

The Congress discussed: the future plans of the Eurasian Silk Road Universities Consortium (ESRUC), the modern trends and innovations in higher education, exchange programs and opportunities for development of long-term projects. At the Congress the importance of higher education strategic perspectives in global, local and/or regional context of Eurasian Silk Road and the role of universities in the realization of these prospects were emphasized.

The special attention was paid to the new academic and research technologies, and the importance of their implementation problems in modern dynamic world.
