On July 9-10, 2014, the Professional Association of Dentists, Tbilisi State Medical University Departments of Odontology, Periodontics and Oral mucosal diseases and the doctors of Dental Clinic and Educational-Research Center “Unident” organized the 5th event in support of regional dentists of Georgia. Under the support of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, in Adjara region, in Batumi art center 

after conducted series of nation-wide tour the final Conference on  "high standards of dentistry" was arranged. 

On 11, 12 and 13 July, the event was joined by the alliance of Georgian dentists and healthcare professionals  league; as a result the international conference on  dentistry - "Georgia - Ukraine II" was arranged. On 9th of July, the Conference was  opened by Prof. Marina Mamaladze,   president of Professional Association of Georgian stomatologists, Head of TSMU Department of Odontology with the lecture on “Composite filling materials, principles of adhesion and treatment protocol/guideline”.

Prof. Manana Iverieli had a presentation on Lip diseases (Chielitis) – modern aspects of treatment”, Prof. Nino Chipashvili – “Local anesthesias in ambulatory stomatology: risks and successes”. Two debuts were as follows: Dea Vadachkoria, Academic Doctor  made report on "from metal ceramic  crowns to  non-metalo ceramic  construvtions"  and Associate Prof. Natia Nizharadze, TSMU Department of Odontology, talked about the features of childhood teeth restorations.

Lia Sanodze, Academic Doctor of Medicine represented production of “GEA”  permanent sponsor  - Using lips for treatment of stomatologic diseases.

On July 10 the presentations were made by:   Professor Nino Abashidze - " aggressive forms of parodontitis and treatment characteristics," Tamar Skhvitaridze, representative of  the company dental market - " techniques of anatomical stratification and New Horizons of restorative odontologyby Lorenzo Vanini, Khatia Gogishvili Academic doctor of stomatology, a pharmaceutical firm "Product of Alpen Pharma" Traxan ".

At the end of the Conference discussion  between the  stomatologists and Batumi State Medical University academic staff was conducted. IIn parallel doctors of Dental Clinic and Educational-Research Center “Unident” conducted the master classed and consultations at Dental Clinic “DAVID DENT”.

On July 11, the  II International Congress organized by Alliance of Georgian Stomatologists and support of Professional Association of Stomatologists -  “Georgia- Ukraine II” - was opened. Among of honorable guests were: Olga Ponomarenko, Andrei Salamakha and Okeg Kunin (Ukraine), with special invitation the Congress was attended by Fadi Khaek and Ehab Rashid. Good news was the arrival of Professor Larisa Lomiashvili from Omsk.

Each speaker's presentation was met with great interest by the audience. Within the frames of the Congress, Professor Nino Chipashvili delivered  lecture - "Anatomo-morphological characteristics of upper jaw in Georgian population" (co-speaker- Ekaterine Beshkenadze), Professor Manana Iverieli - "Manifestation of single organ and organ system diseases on the language", Professor Nino Abashidze - "New paradigm of treatment in  parodontology". The lecture of Professor Marina Mamladze, MD, Ph.D.,  was of  special interest for the audience. The lecture represented  a completely different format and related to the experience of carrying out the  objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) at TSMU Department of Odontology. Professor Larissa Lomiashvili, Dean of the Faculty of Stomatology at Omsk State Medical Academy expressed her particular interest in this format  of conducting OSCE exam. To the end of the Congress Larisa Lomiashvili delivered lecture on “Modular technologies in reconstructive stomatology”. Audience expressed great interest in this presentation as most of the attendees were acquainted with this technique of teeth modeling developed by Prof. Lomiashvili. Master class of Lomiashvili,  carried our together with Assistant Professor Sergei Mikhailovski, acquired a fresh interest  and even   generated considerable  excitement. Professor Lomiashvili made not only video demonstration of master - class of modeling but also enabled the trainees to assimilate modeling techniques on the putty and experimental teeth prepared by the staff of  Dental Clinic and Training - Research Center UniDent. For  successful performance of the master class, Professor Larissa Lomiashvili was assisted by the doctors of Professional Association of Dentists and Dental Clinic and Training - Research Center, UniDent Doctors: Natia Nizharadze, Tamar Natsvlishvili, Tamta Jikia, Ketevan Bachiashvili and Eter Elashvili. At the end, Prof. Lomiashvili  handed copies of the English versionand Russion version of the new edition of her  textbook "Modular technology for  teeth modeling",  to Prof. Marina Mamaladze, Director of  Dental Clinic and Training - Research Center, UniDent. The idea of gifting 50 copies of the textbook for new academic year was a great generosity for TSMU library.
