First liver transplantation in Georgia

 

Initiative of the  high quality medical technology center, School of Medicine, Nagasaki University, in a result of  long discussion and employment between Erasmus University Rotterdam (The Netherlands) and Tbilisi State Medical University, by the guidance of Japanese surgant, professor  Susumu Eguchi, (Department of Surgery Nagasaky Univesity Hospital), with group of Georgian doctors, was made first transplantation operation of liver.

In order to deep in the professional employment between Georgian and Japanese colleagues, on 9 december of  2014 in Tbilisi State Medical University the meeting were anttending: TSMU rector,  professor Zurab Vadachkoria, professor Susumu Eguchi (Japan), TSMU vice-rector, professor  Rima Beriashvili, TSMU vice-rector,  professor  Kakhaber Chelidze, chancellor of  TSMU Zurab Orjonikidze, professor of TSMU Baadur Mosidze, general director of  “High Medical Technology Center, Univesity Clinic“,  professor Gocha Ingorokva and TSMU invited professor Koba Kupreishvili (Erasmus Univesity Clinic, The Netherlands).

On the meeting sides disscused the development of the high medical technology and directions in the field of modern medical care, also was set future employment plans.
