On March 9, 2015, Alberto Abreu da Silva, Regional Coordinator for Europe of  the International Federation of Medical Students' Associations (IFMSA-EUROPE) visited Tbilisi State Medical University. He had the meeting with Prof. ZurabVadachkoria, Rector of TSMU which was attended by Prof. Rima Beriashvili, Vice-Rector of TSMU; Irina Kapetivadze, Deputy Head of the Department of International Affairs; Giga Sordia, Head of TSMU Students and Alumni Relations Office and Kakha Abuladze, President of Students Self-Governmental Body, Ilia Nadareishvili Head of Medical Students' Association of Georgia and Mariam Beridze Head of NGO ,,Youth for Population Health”

The International Federation of Medical Students' Associations (IFMSA) is a youth federation affiliate of the World Health Organization (WHO), which is represented in 126 countries. This organization has successfully implemented scientific and professional bilateral exchange programs and arranged lots of seminars, forums and other events. At the meeting, Alberto Abreu da Silva discussed the issues, steps  and challenges concerned to the membership of Georgia in IFMSA. The decision will be taken by General Assembly of this Organization in August, 2015.
