On March 9 to March 13, 2015, Chester University hosted the Second Selection Committee Meeting of MEDEA Erasmus Mundus Action 2 Project, which was attended by Prof. Ia Avaliani, Head of International Affairs Department of TSMU and Nino Kandelaki, Chief Specialist at the same Department. Together with the project coordinators, the meeting was attended by the members of the selection committee from the Universities of Chester, Thessaloniki, Porto, Santiago de Compostela, Perugia, Vilnius, Baku and Minsk. Within the frames of the project, the students were given the opportunity to be engaged in the global educational space and involved in the process of international mobility to acquire new experience. In the program may be involved the graduates from different higher education institutions who were awarded Master and/or Doctoral degrees, as well as representatives of academic and administrative staff. The representatives of TSMU took part in consideration of key issues of consortium management such as: assessment of the candidates, harmonization problem of academic recognition, review and further provision of project MEDEA implementation, holding informational meetings, planning the ways to provide the candidates with detailed information, review of scholarship programs and admission criteria and so on ...The representative of the Administration of Chester University expressed their willing to cooperate with Georgian colleagues not only with the Faculty of Public Health but also a newly opened medical school offering MEDEA applicants specialization in different fields of medicine. In August-September, 2015, the winners of Erasmus Mundus exchange program MEDEA (students, residents and doctoral students), will continue their study at leading universities of Europe.
