Seminar -,,Perspectives for Prevention of Diseases in Georgia

On April 28, 2015, the seminar on ,,Perspectives for Prevention of Diseases in Georgia", organized by the Delegation of the European Union to Georgia and the project “Let's meet Europe together”, was held at Tbilisi State Medical University.

The sides discussed topical issues of public health: diabetes and obesity, HIV, AIDS, tuberculosis and sexually transmitted diseases and the mechanisms of prevention.

The speeches were given by: Nino Kochiashvili, Project Manager for the Delegation of the European Union to Georgia, Prof. Ramaz Kurashvili, Director of the Center of Diabetes, Endocrine and Cardio-Pulmonary Diseases and Sergo Chikhladze, representative of the International Charity Fund TANADGOMA. Disease prevention is considered as the most important factor in achieving the highest standards of public health and socio-economic development.
