Representatives of US State Department and USAID Visited TSMU Center of Clinical Skills

In the framework of the USAID-supported program - "Sustain", a long-term partnership has been developed between Tbilisi State Medical University and USAID. As a result of this collaboration:  revising and updating of training programs of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology; equipping with additional moulages and supplying with auxiliary medical material have been carried out. Under this program, USAID provided professional assistance to TSMU Center of Clinical Skills in conducting OSCE examination in Obstetrics and Gynecology for the TSMU fourth year students, Faculty of Medicine. 
On May 14, 2015, TSMU Center of Clinical Skills was visited by: Alina Romanovski, Coordinator for U.S. Assistance to Europe and Eurasia, US Department of StateStephen Haykin, USAID Caucasus, Mission Director; Tamara Sirbiladze, USAID Caucasus, Head of Health and Social Department ;Nino Berdzuli, USAID Sustain Chief of PartyNino Lomia, USAID Sustain Pre-Service Medical Education Expert; Andrea Dixon, Senior Communications Advisor at JSI.

The guests visited TSMU Center of  Clinical Skills, where they were acquainted with the activities of the Center, examination techniques and other manipulations performed on the simulators of Obstetrics and gynecology by the students. Prof. Kakhaber Chelidze, Vice Rector of TSMU, talked about the opportunities, achievements and future plans of TSMU academic staff. He expressed his thankfulness to the guests for  cooperation in the framework of the USAID-supported program - "Sustain", highly appreciated the obtained results and the future prospects of cooperation.
