Sonographic Visualization - New Stage in Peripheral Regional Anesthesia

On May 28, 2015, the  presentation of a new ultrasound device - eZono 4000  was arranged at the First University Clinic of TSMU. This is a new technology in medicine, successfully used in many developed countries but still is not  used at the clinics of the South Caucasian or Asia. It should be noticed that TSMU First University Clinic is the first one where implementation of this technology and development of training base, not only for students but also for doctors from the South Caucasian and Asian countries, was planned.
Prof. Kakhaber Chelidze Vice-Rector of TSMU opened the presentation. According to him, in recent years, important changes have been made in medicine; fantastic steps have been made in pain management. Due to its importance, in different countries pain management was allocated as a separate specialty. Method of targeted needle visualization is also of great importance. Therefore, implementation of such an innovative apparatus as Zono 4000-, is really necessary forn medicine.
Prof. Zaza Bokhua, as a Director of TSMU Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Continuous Professional Development, assigns a great importance to the implementation of this innovative technology. A short-term training program, developed by German specialists, will be implemented at the First University Clinic of TSMU. The doctors should pass the concrete short-term training program to study this innovative method.
According to Prof. Samson Sajaia, Head of Anesthesiology and Reanimation Direction at TSMU First University Clinic, regional anesthesia is the most urgent problem of modern anesthesiology. In comparison with general anesthesiology, this method saves material expenses and proved to be much safer for the patient as well. For conducting regional anesthesia are used: CT, X-Ray diagnostics and ultrasonographic examination.
Nerve plexus, responsible for pain in a certain area, should be discovered. Nerve can be found blindly through the good knowledge of topographic anatomy and using CT, X-ray or Sonography. The last word in medicine is assigned to anesthesiologic ultrasonography eZono 4000. Presentation of Ultrasonography eZono 4000 was carried out by Christian Tembaak, Sales Manager of  the Company “eZono”.
