On June 4, 2015, Professor ZurabVadachkoria Rector of TSMU met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey to Georgia H.E. Zeki Levent Gümrükçü  at Tbilisi State Medical University. The meeting was attended by: Professor Rima Beriashvili Vice-Rector, Prof. Ia Avaliani Head of the Department of International Affairs, Professor Tina Chikovani Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Professor Lela Maskhulia Dean of the Faculty of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation,  Prof. David Topuria, Head of the Department of Overseas Students Education. The sides discussed prospects of cooperation between the Tbilisi State Medical University and Turkish universities, exchange programs for  undergraduate and postgraduate students of TSMU. They expressed a desire to increase the number of Turkish students in TSMU.
