On August 6, 2015, Prof. Robert M. Christiansen, ophthalmologist ("John A. Moran Eye Center", Salt Lake City, Utah, USA) visited TSMU. He delivered a lecture on "Optical correction and rehabilitation of the patients with low-vision" for ophthalmologists and residents. The lecture was attended by: George Abesadze, Vice-Rector of TSMU, Prof. Zaza Bokhua Director of the Institute of Post-Graduate Studies and Continuing Professional Development, Prof. Merab Dvali, Head of the Ophthalmology Department at the First University Clinic. Within the frames of the partnership Professor Robert Christiansen donated the eye ultrasound bio-microscope to TSMU Department of Ophthalmology. At the end of the visit American colleague, together with the residents, visited the Office of “the blind's Union of Georgia” and gifted them a printer and notebooks.
