On September 26, 2015, presentation of the competition announced for the innovations in Biology and Biotechnology  by Technology Commercialization Office (TCO) was held at TSMU.  The event was attended by the representatives from TSMU Institutions and doctoral students of TSMU. The competition is aimed at selection and transfers of the successful inventions with high potential of commercialization in the fields of biology and biotechnology . The competition will reveal the best five works, which will be provided with:

• Filling in patent’s application form and covering of patenting expenses;

• Support further commercialization process;

• Marketing of the invention;

• Finding company in Georgia and the US, interested in production and licensing of the invention;

The attention will be focused on ​​originality, patentability, and commercially availability of the idea. The issues on management and law on protection of intellectual property were also discussed.
