Visit of Prof. Zurab Vadachkoria, TSMU Rector and Prof. Levan Metreveli, Head of TSMU Masters’ Program

On October 1-5, 2015 the delegation of Tbilisi State Medical University consisted of Prof.Zurab Vadachkoria TSMU Rector and  Prof. Levan Metreveli, Head of  TSMU Masters’ Program "Public Health Management and Health Policy" (English medium) participated in the VI annual session organized by Eurasian Silk Road Universities Consortium – ESRUC which was held in Casablanca, Morocco.

At the plenary sessions the challenges of education within ​​the Silk Road area and effective responding ways were discussed. The delegation members were actively involved in the discussions passing within the framework of the Convention.

On the final day Professor Zurab Vadachkoria, addressing to the participants, stressed the importance of this type of cooperation and noted that internationalization of medical education and science is considered as one of the main priorities of the Tbilisi State Medical University. Professor Zurab Vadachkoria presented the recent news regarding TSMU to the participants, including the English-language Master's program "Public Health Management and Health Policy" and offered the Consortium member Universities  to involve  their  graduates in this program.

Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Tbilisi State Medical University and the University Hassan II- Casablanca.

As far as the  organizational committee of the 6th annual session, informed the guests about the cancelation of  the "Student Recruitment Fair" (International Exhibition-Fair of Higher Education) a week prior, TSMU delegation took heed to arrange bilateral meetings within the frames of which  promotion of English-language Master's program "Public Health Management and Health Policy" and appropriate events  to attract the listeners were planned.

TSMU representatives met with: Prof. Dr. Necati TÜYSÜZ, Vice Rector of Karadeniz Technical University (Trabzon, Turkey), Prof. Dr. Yener YÖRÜK Rector of Trakya University (Edirne, Turkey), Prof. Durmus Deveci President of Kahramanmaras Sutku Imam University (Kahramanmaras, Turkey), Prof. Sultan Abu-Orabi Secretary General, Association of Arab Universities  Jordan,  Prof. Ali Caglar Gullice representative of Ataturk University. They agreed that the Georgian side will send the program files that will be placed on the web pages of the Universities. Following the meetings, the delegation members outlined the strategy for communication with the sides.
