The Activities by TSMU under the International Week of Science and Innovation on the 14th of November

The International Week of Science and Innovation continues on. On the 14th of November the exhibition on "Fun science for pupils" was held at Expo-Georgia.

At the exhibition, along with the scientific works and textbooks, the medico-pharmaceutical preparations were represented by I. Kutateladze Institute of Pharmacology and manikins and simulators by TSMU Center of Clinical Skills, respectively. Special attention of the visitors was drawn to the manipulations of emergency medicine provided by the staff of TSMU Clinical Skills Centre: Professor Irma Manjavidze Director of the Center and other clinical instructors, residents and students. The respectable guests of the exhibition Tamar Sanikidze, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia and Giorgi Sharvashidze Deputy Minister, who came here with the children, showed a particular interest in the exhibition and paid a special attention to the visualizations and materials represented by TSMU.

On the same day, during the International Week of Science and Innovation, the Scientific Conference on "Ethical aspects of scientific research", organized by TSMU Scientific Skills Center, was held at TSMU.  The conference was opened by Professor Rima Beriashvili Vice-Rector of TSMU. At the conference the interesting reports were given by: Professor Ramaz Shengelia - "Biomedical Studies: ethical principles of methodology and analysis"; Professor Givi Javashvili - "Ethical and legal regulation of medical investigations - international standards and experience of Georgia"; Associate Professor Luiza Gabunia - “Ethics on the use of animals for scientific purposes"; Associate Professor Shorena Khetsuriani - "Some ethical issues of scientific publications" and Karen Mulkijanian Head of Department of Preclinical Pharmacologic Studies of TSMU I. Kutateladze Institute of Pharmacochemistry - "Modern approaches to pharmacological and toxicological studies". Also, very interesting reports were represented by young scientists,  PhD students and students of TSMU, who have presented their current research results in terms of the ethical aspects. This Conference was one of the most important events within the International Week of Science and Innovation.
