On 22-24 February, 2016 Professor Yitzhak Vinograd, Head of Children’s Surgical Department of Children’s Hospital “Dana”  of Sourasky Medical Center and Dr Ran Steinberg, Head of pediatric surgery department, Rambam hospital, Haifa, Prof. Arkadi Vachiani, Pediatric Surgery Department and Prof Amir Hadash MD, Attending Physician of Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Ruth Rappaport Children's Hospital, Rambam Health Care Campu  visited TSMU.

On the 22nd of February they delivered lectures at the TSMU Givi Zhvania Pediatric Academic Clinic and February 23-24 for TSMU students, residents and academic personnel.

It is worth to mention that the cooperation with Israeli professors has already a history of 10 years.  Medicine is the fastest growing scientific field. Prof Amir Hadash MD has introduced updates in the field of intensive care to TSMU students and academic staff. The topics for lectures were-intensive post-operative care and monitoring, management of pediatric shock and pediatric ketoacidosis  Emergency Department Care. Israeli professors have performed complex surgical operations together with Georgian colleagues. For example, Hirschsprung's disease surgery can be done in 2 or 3 stages with a colostomy to protect the anastomosis. Over the years, as surgical and magnification techniques improved, Israeli surgeons began to do the definitive operation at earlier age and in one-stage. Cooperation between Georgian and Israeli surgeons became a tradition.
