Lectures by German Professors at Tbilisi State Medical University

On April 4, 2016, German Professors: Prof. Dr. Timo Ulrichs, Head of the Tuberculosis section KMF, Berline Charité University Medicine, International Healthcare Policy Expert at German Federal Ministry of Health, TSMU honorary Doctor; Prof. Dr. Helmut Hahn, President of KMF; Dr. Marlies Höck, Head of the Microbiology Section KMF; and Dr. Jochen K. Alius, Head of Nurnberg Implantology Clinic visited Tbilisi State Medical University.  They delivered lectures for TSMU undergraduate and postgraduate students of TSMU.

• Prof. Helmut Hahn - "Fundamentals of Microbiology and KMF  Presentation";

• Prof. Timo Ulrichs - "Principles of public health";

• Dr. Marlies Höck - "Hospital hygiene and prevention of nosocomial infections";

• Dr. Jochen K. Alius - "Fundamental issues of implantology"

German colleagues also visited TSMU Center of Clinical Skills, equipped with modern standards: the units of resuscitation and emergency care, obstetrics-gynecology, newborn care and resuscitation, surgery, ophthalmology. Anatomical Table (Anatomage), which allows students to observe any organs of human body through desired section.

Prof. Irma Manjavidze, Director of TSMU Center of Clinical Skills, introduced the guests the principles of study process at Tbilisi State Medical University and the results of objective structured clinical examination (OSCE).

At the end of the visit, the gusts met with Prof. ZurabVadachkoria, Rector of TSMU, Vice-Rectors: Prof. Rima Beriashvili and Giorgi Abesadze, Prof. Tinatin Chikovani Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Samson Mgebrishvili, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry,  Prof. Nino Abralava Director of TSMU Foreign Language Center, David Delibashvili, Head of International Affairs Department and Irina Kapetivadze, Deputy Head of the same Department. They discussed  the plans for future cooperation.
