On April 26, 2016, Mr. Michael Weaver,  Program Manager at International Science and Technology Center was on official visit to Tbilisi State Medical University where he met with Prof. Zurab Vadachkoria, Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University.  The meeting was also attended by:  Prof. Rima Beriashvili, Vice-Rector of TSMU, Prof. David Kochiashvili Head of TSMU Department of Urology, Bessarion Partsvania Doctor of Biological Sciences, biophysicis who led many scientific projects, among them ISTC, GNSF,  for many years. He is the author of 80 scientific publications and 1 patent holder. At the meeting they considered the course and expected results of international project on “prostate cancer investigation by ultraviolet irradiation at its early stage”. It should be noted that in terms of mortality prostate cancer in men ranks second after lung cancer. At the initial stage this disease is asymptomatic and its early detection is of great importance. The above-mentioned project is the possibility of creating a modern, simple and inexpensive method for the early detection of prostate cancer.
