HE Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka visited Tbilisi State Medical University

On November 30, 2016, H.E. Mr. P.M. Amza, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of  Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka  with the spouse, Mr. Levan Chiladze, the Consul and Dilani Weerakoon Deputy Head of Mission of Embassy of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in Ankara, Turkey paid a visit to Tbilisi State Medical University.  The guests met with Prof. ZurabVadachkoria Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University, Professor Khatuna Todadze Vice-Rector, Associate Professor Davit Topuria Head of Overseas Students Education Department and David Delibashvili Head of International Affairs Department  and Irina Kapetivadze Deputy Head of International Affairs Department. His Excellency, Ambassador of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka expressed his thankfulness to Tbilisi State medical University and especially to the academic staff of TSMU for high-level training they providing and a warm welcome. He noted that government of Sri Lanka Democratic Socialist Republic has set a goal to develop a close relationship with Georgia and cooperate in various fields, including education. HE Ambassador was informed about high academic progress of Sri-Lankan students by Professor Khatuna Todadze Vice-Rector of TSMU. According to Associate Professor David Topuria Head of Overseas Students Education Department Sri Lanka, at present 161 Sri-Lankan students

are studying at TSMU.  52 of them are  graduating the University. Sri Lankan is Vice-President of TSMU Students’ Self-Governmental Body as well. These students are motivated and distinguished with the ability to present themselves positively in multi-cultural environment. Prof. Zurab Vadachkoria Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University thanked the guests for their keen appreciation and high assessment and handed them symbolic gifts. H.E. Mr. P.M. Amza, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of  Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka handed a symbolic gift to the Rector of TSMU as well. The same day, the guests met with TSMU students from Sri-Lanka. According to them the years they passed in Georgia were very productive.
