On October 12, 2017, Eliza Roma, Regional Development Manager for BMJ (British Medical Journal) and Ekaterine Cherkezishvili, local  Head of BMJ Development visited Tbilisi State Medical University.  The guests met with: Professor Rima Beriashvili, Vice-Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University and Associate Professor Zaza Bokhua, Director of the Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Continuous Professional Development of TSMU.

On the basis of the memorandum signed between BMJ and Tbilisi State Medical University, an important step has been taken. For the doctors and postgraduate students  involved in the system of Postgraduate Medical Education and Continuous Professional Development, for every university and affiliated clinics of TSMU,  BMJ will provide free spaces for the scientific articles /papers. At the same time, the staff of the TSMU, University and affiliated clinics, residents and physicians involved in the continuous medical education system will have to access to BMJ articles
