Professors of the Haifa University Clinic (Israel) at Tbilisi State Medical University

On October 18, 2017, Professor Zurab Vadachkoria, Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University met with Professors of the Haifa University Clinic (Israel):  Ran Steinberg - Head of the Children Surgical Department; Arkadi Vatchian – Surgeon; Josef Haim Ben Ari - Head of Intensive Care Department and Amit Lehavi – Anesthesiologist.  The guests were accompanied by Lia Dzidziguri, Associate Professor, Director of TSMU Givi Zhvania Pediatric Academic Clinic, surgeons of General Surgery Department: Associate Professor Merab Buadze and Assistant Professor Avtandil Kutubidze. The meeting was attended by:  Vice Rectors of TSMU, Professors: Khatuna Todadze and Rima Beriashvili and Irakli Kokhreidze; Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Professor Tinatin Chikovani, Deputy Head of International Affairs Department Irina Kapetivadze. The guests were welcomed by TSMU Rector, Professor Zurab Vadachkoria. He expressed his gratefulness for great contribution and collaboration the Professors of Haifa University Clinic provide for Givi Zhvania Pediatric Academic Clinic for more than a decade. Prof. Ran Steinberg - Head of the Children Surgical Department of the Haifa University Clinic, thanked the Rector for his warm welcome and noted that such visits became traditional for them and they are always happy to come back to Givi Zhvania Pediatric Academic Clinic as to the second home for them. “Both  clinics - the Haifa University Clinic and the TSMU Givi Zhvania Pediatric Academic Clinic are somewhat close to us and we are happy to provide most complex surgeries to help the patients in both clinics. I hope this fruitful relationship will be developed in the future as well". Prof. Arkadi Vatchian – general surgeon of the Haifa University Clinic was born in Georgia. He spoke with particular love about the emotions associated with his coming to Georgia. At the TSMU Givi Zhvania Pediatric Academic Clinic they provide consultations and treatment of the patients with particularly difficult diagnosis:  "We make great efforts to help Georgian youngest population to recover. We have been doing this with great pleasure and will be in future as well ... ". At the end of the meeting, TSMU Rector, Professor Zurab Vadachkoria  handed the memorable gifts with University symbolics to the honorable guests.
